NEET PG 2024 Exam: Security Measures and Last-Minute Prep to Combat Leaks

Security Tightened Ahead of NEET PG 2024
The NEET PG 2024 exam is set to occur on August 11, following a postponement from June. In an effort to prevent question paper leaks, the Home Ministry has been roped in to enhance security measures. A unique approach has been adopted where the question papers will be finalized mere hours before the exam commencement. This decision followed a high-level huddle involving the Ministry's I4C wing and Cyber Cell to tackle looming vulnerabilities.
The National Board of Examinations (NBE) assures that, contrary to social media whispers, no question papers were in existence as of early August. This negates any circulating rumors about exam material leaks, marking all such claims as blatant fabrications. The meticulous planning comes as part of a broader strategy to ensure the integrity and credibility of the examination process.
NEET PG 2024 Examination Structure and Participation
The upcoming NEET PG 2024 exam will feature a distinctive format: two shifts of examinations, specifically from 9 AM to 12:30 PM and 3:30 PM to 7 PM. During these sessions, students will tackle 200 multiple-choice questions spread across five separate sections, each with a time limit of 42 minutes. This design ensures a well-paced assessment, providing ample time for each question while maintaining the overall integrity of the exam.
A staggering 2.16 lakh candidates have registered, with the exams taking place across 416 centers in 170 cities nationwide. This massive undertaking is a testament to the careful logistical planning involved. The revised examination date came on the heels of considerations by a panel led by Dr. Radhakrishnan, a respected former ISRO official, reassuring candidates about the seriousness of the process.
Security remains of utmost priority with multiple ministries—Home, IT, and Health—joining forces to oversee the operations. Candidates have been explicitly advised to report any fraudulent activities or offers of exam materials to the NBEMS or directly to law enforcement agencies. Their proactive involvement is crucial to maintaining the exam’s integrity.
