Hero Glamour X 125 Breaks Ground: First 125cc Bike in India With Cruise Control and Smart Tech

Hero Glamour X 125 Breaks Ground: First 125cc Bike in India With Cruise Control and Smart Tech Aug, 20 2025

Hero Glamour X 125 Arrives With India's First 125cc Cruise Control

No one saw it coming—a practical commuter motorcycle, now with cruise control. Hero MotoCorp just put everyone on notice, rolling out the all-new Hero Glamour X 125 that blends smart features, advanced tech, and a bold design makeover. Starting at Rs 89,999 for the drum variant and Rs 99,999 for the disc (ex-showroom), this machine wants to change what you expect from the 125cc category.

The biggest news is that cruise control isn’t just for big, expensive bikes anymore. The Glamour X 125 is now the first and only 125cc motorcycle in India to bring cruise control to the masses. Hit the highway, tap the dedicated switch on the right handlebar, and your speed stays steady—no need to tire out your right hand with endless throttle twists. Perfect for long rides, right?

Under the hood, the bike is powered by a refined 124.7cc single-cylinder engine (the same as the sporty Xtreme 125R). You get 11.4 bhp at 8,250 rpm and 10.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, driven through a 5-speed manual transmission. This is no carbureted throwback—it’s fuel injected, smooth to ride, and compliant with the latest BS6 2.0 norms, so you’re not coughing up smoke at traffic lights.

Redesign, Smart Features, and Safety All Around

Redesign, Smart Features, and Safety All Around

The Glamour X 125 isn't just about tech on paper. You’ll spot the difference at first glance. There's an aggressive, modern face with a sharp LED headlight and sculpted fuel tank (those muscular side shrouds do add attitude). The color options shout for attention—Matt Magnetic Silver, Candy Blazing Red, Metallic Nexus Blue, Black Teal Blue, and Black Pearl Red—each with new graphics to match.

Hop onto the saddle and there’s a new colored LCD instrument cluster greeting you. This is more than speed and fuel—Bluetooth connectivity links your phone, giving turn-by-turn navigation, distance-to-empty, real-time mileage, gear position, and trip info. For everyday riders, a glance shows how far you’ve got left in the tank and whether you’re wasting fuel with a heavy hand.

The tech parade continues with Ride-by-Wire throttle, which isn’t common at this price. It underpins three riding modes you can easily toggle through—Eco, Road (Standard), and Power. Go Eco if you want every drop of petrol to last, or flick to Power for a peppier pull when you’re running late.

Safety matters. Hero’s new Panic Brake Alert system makes sure drivers behind notice if you slam on the brakes—tail lamps will pulse to warn them. Add in the brand’s i3S Idle Start Stop system, which kills the engine at lights to save even more fuel, and you start to see why this commuter stands out. Other practicalities? USB charging to keep your phone alive, a saree guard, engine kill switch, pass switch, and if your battery’s drained, the kick starter still gets you home.

Despite the fancy updates, the essentials are solid: a 10-liter fuel tank (good for 65 kmpl if you ride patiently), a comfortably low 790 mm seat height, and alloy wheels on both versions. The disc model gets grippier brakes for those who want the best stopping power at this price point.

At 125.5 kg (drum) or 127 kg (disc), the bike is still easy to handle in the city. Hero has opened bookings both in showrooms and online, and deliveries will hit soon. For anyone wanting smart features without jumping to premium price tags, the Glamour X 125 suddenly makes other bikes in its class look old-fashioned.
